Thanks, Chronic, your advice was most timely. I also decided to follow TheChronicR's advice about deleting caches.

\My Documents files.)Īlternately, if EA go the route that they did with the 'Stories' series for TS2, then new worlds/eras may be released as completely stand-alone games, just like TSM.ĮDIT: I had problems with my game (save file having wrong date) and after the patch had to delete the save files. Later EA, themselves, altered the coding to allow custom content to be entered via folders held within. (Trying not to break the rules but, when TS3 was released, adding customisation was done by adding folders in.

I think that it is likely that ways to install any new worlds into the game will be added as/when/if additional extension packs are created.

Now that Windows 8.1 has been released, theres one question that I want to ask is The Sims Medieval compatible with. When I say this, most of the available patches work, except for the most recent one, which causes the game to not run at all. Thanks for the info about the cache files, I'm going to try to play again and this info may come in very handy. Anyway, as so many people are aware, The Sims Medieval isnt totally compatible with Windows 8. Even though, there is an Installed Worlds folder (in TS3, Riverview and Barnacle Bay are placed here after being installed, and any other custom world), but I can't think of a possible way to install a new world into your game. The cache files are generated by the game here: (Windows) your hard drive:\Documents and Settings\ your user account\My Documents (Documents in Vista)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval.

On a side note: there isn't a DCBackup folder as it is in TS3, because there is still no way to import custom content into the game, as far as I know. As many of you know, fellow Sims 3 players, deleting the caches is completely safe, and cannot harm your game. After deleting mine, my game started running smoother and loading faster. For a list of The Sims 4 patches, see Category:Patches and updates for The Sims 4. However, when a new patch is released, online features will be unavailable until it is patched to the latest version. Patches and updates for The Sims 4 are set to download and install automatically, but this behavior can be disabled. Anyways, feel free to delete these files, they are regenerated by the game each time you play it. The Sims 4 delivers its patches via Origin. There are 4 files in Sims 3 folder, that's why I'm bothered. I managed to find and delete only 3 cache files ( CASPartCache.package, compositorCache.package, simCompositorCache.package). (Windows) :\Documents and Settings\\My Documents (Documents in Vista)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval The cache files are generated by the game here: As many of you know, fellow Sims 3 players, deleting the caches is completely safe, and cannot harm your game.
